Fall into the Gap

So, on our recent trip to the bay area (more blogging to follow) I was trying to prepare Julie for the sick and wrong things she might see at the corner of Haight and Ashbury. I don't mean the druggies or the hippies, I just know that on MY first trip to this infamous corner I saw THIS:

But I was so relieved when that was not what we found. Seems that since 2/1/07 the view has changed!

Have some pi

Happy Pi Day ...

But I'd like it heated and I don't want the ice cream on top I
want it on the side and I'd like strawberry instead of vanilla if you have it
if not then no ice cream just whipped cream but only if it's real if it's out
of a can then nothing.

Identity Crisis

I've been meaning to blog this for a few days and now that I've got my wireless working again I can do so from my laptop! Whoo hoo!

So got to hang out with Drama Queen and Wild Boy the other night while Quinn was working and daddy was out of town. I picked them up from their daycare and took them to McDonald's for their play date with a few other kids from school. Quinn had given me the run down but apparently now it has taken off and the whole day care now goes over there on Wednesdays. We took over a whole corner of the place and it was a bit overwhelming at first.

As we walked in the first of DQ's friends that we met asked "Are you the Grandma?"

Um, no. But he's, what, four? You gonna get upset over that? No.

Then as we sat down a big-eyed girl loudly asked, "Are you the NEW mommy?"

Again, no. "I'm an auntie." I decided that would work.

The next child to question my place in this world asked DQ directly and, while I didn't hear her response, the girl ran over to her mother announcing "She's her FAIRY godmother!!" clearly quite impressed.

I looked at DQ who smiled at me. She was a little smug. And, so was I.

And then Wild Boy informed be that he did not want the robot toy in his "boy" happy meal but wanted a My Little Pony like his sister's had.

Who needs labels? It's good to make your own.
