Don't be afraid to just phone moi

I got a lovely call from Amanda earlier today. She and her fiancée are driving across the country, leaving the home of the Red Sox to move to the hippy goodness of Eugene, OR. It’s been fun to check in with them and today she called me from Iowa. She was wandering out on the hills of Iowa and she WAS thinking of me! Sweet!

I’m a bit jealous as I’ve been to both coasts but not seen much in between. I would love to have the time to make such a journey and see all there is to see. Which today for Amanda is corn…Instead I am leaving on a jet plane to San Francisco (city of snakes?) for a wee visit with Flora tomorrow after work.

Anyone else have cross-country road trip stories? Or if you are a Dar fan and caught the point of this post, have you heard any more of the new album yet?

And I feel fine...

OK... I'm often the last to know about such things but I just found this and haven't stopped laughing. Stop me if you've heard this one.

A Cubs fan's dream

From SI: As construction continues on the new Busch Stadium just south of the existing ballpark, plans are in the works to demolish the Cardinals' current home.

They will begin selling $10 raffle tickets for a chance to trigger the implosion that will take it down and proceeds will go to charity.

I don’t have any specific feelings about this but it got me thinking about to how much money would be made if the same offer was made for Yankee stadium! My brain can not fathom such numbers.

No, the clock doesn't really start to tick until you're 36!

But I did feel the need to counter Courtney’s cute pictures with one from a wedding reception I was at this weekend. This is Asha.

Auntie Kristy had a great visit with her and got to celebrate the nuptials of Brandy and Russell (this union brought to you by the infamous Beer Tours of Portland). I love the fact that Brandy’s new initials are BAD!

If I could save time in a bottle

Sorry for the absence. I don’t know where the time goes. Honestly, I haven’t been THAT busy but it seems like if I have an idea for a blog topic I’m not near a computer and if I am near one I’m out of ideas or too tired to write.

I could write about the show…what a great run we had (although the audiences were too small until the end). I could write about my great cast (and post very incriminating photos). I could write about my latest stalker (apparently I’m a scary-man magnet). I could write about Julie’s visit (and our Halloween costume hunting plans). Or I could just say “Hi. I’m back” and leave it at that.

If any one is interested in the info referenced above shoot me an email and I’ll be happy to catch you up on my life. Otherwise, I'll try to be more interesting now. I promise.
