the quiz is wrong. or I am dumb and don't know how to take it. I got "north central," and I obviously don't have a minnesota accent!!!

I got Midland??? I love this:
"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.
... maybe I listen to too much NPR, or the quiz is bogus -- It'd sure be a lot more credible if it gave a more specific explanation.

Well, it got it right for me but the only way to know if it was a good quiz was to have more people try it. Clearly...it sucks.

Well, mine sort of makes sense. Almost exactly even on Midland and West.
Except my west should be stronger and it's a slight fraction weaker.
""North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot"
I remember my first summer back from college when Quinn asked me if I had just been vacationing in BC.
